1.REVIEW OF 2024 BUDGET, OVERVIEW

2. STOCKING PROPOSAL FOR FALL 2024

Fish Stocking $20,000

Walley 1500 at $2.47 = $3,705

Fish Habitat $4,000

Perch 1500 at $2.25 = $3,375

Fish Shocking Survey $0

Redear Sunfish 10,000 at 0.65 = $6,500

Lake Signage $500

TOTAL = $13,580

Kids Tournament $0

3. HABITAT CONSTRUCTION

-Excellent discussion of pursuing Bathymetric map of lake & sources of funding for this.

-Consider a fish fry fundraiser to pay for map & additional stocking. 

a. Mossback 

-To date, 6 areas have 69 mossbacks units & probably around 60 trees placed & 14 ugly trees

-Sites given to Brenna for Member Map at Association Office

b. Lake Bottom Mats

-Will rec: continued Much mat for shoreline areas where walking desired (shallow areas) 

-Lake cotton blankets for weed control in deeper water

c. Tree Placements

-Especially important with further loss of trees at the west end.

 -Cedars are good for Perch & combo of hardwoods plus synthetic for all species. 


4. FISH SHOCKING SURVEY 

-Survey complete April 25, 2023

-Results are on Association Website 

-Next survey probably will be Spring 2026 need time to see trend changes

Discuss specifics of walleye possession limits:

  • Daily limit is 3 per homeowner per day
  • Up to 6 maximum per household per day if spouse/children are fishing
  • Guests/friends count toward the above limits
  • No commercial guiding allowed/NO REAL FISH for bait, alive or dead

 Strongly encourage members to remove <15 bass from lake as much as possible



6. SIGNAGE AT WEST END ENTRANCE/RAMP

  1. New Rule/regs signs at both ramps are approx. $250 each installed

7.  LAKE PATROLLING BY F & WQ COMMITTEE

  1. I have patrolled with Gene to try to create more interaction with association members 

8. TOURNAMENTS

*Spring Bass Tournament: April 27

*Moma C Memorial Kids Tournament at Beach House- June 29- (103 kids, 90 rods given, 6 of Moma C family plus Darla & Pauli plus volunteers) Special thanks fo Nick for frying fish

*Fall Bass Tournament: Sep. 28- (Rules reviewed & edited- copies to office and views/news)

9. WATER QUALITY

-Arrange Aquatic Control to manage water quality sampling 

-Nitrates high due to heavy spring rains

-Will arrange meeting with lawn care vendors to discuss ways to help lake (Vendors: Colby, Burdich, Green Valley) 

-Use of organic fertilizers, stay 15’ back from shore, apply more in fall than spring

10. WEED CONTROL 

Brittle NAIAD control 

*Approx 80 of 500 acres treated on July 9

*Used 45 gallons of Clipper SC with surface sprayer

*Will probably need another full application next year to get ahead of this reported results good so far with minimal dead vegetation in lake
